What to Expect
Sunday's at 6.30PM
Our Sunday nights may well take on different shapes as time goes by, but as a taster, here’s what our evenings will look like…
Doors open at 6.15pm with a view to kicking off around 6.30.
Our next theme for the night will be "Fear". There’s been a lot of songs written about Fear so you can expect a playlist throughout the night of songs about the topic (any suggestions for inclusion, just e-mail us).
Just to get the brain cells ticking, we’ll begin with a very short video which asks what you think about Fear? There’ll be some of the Jacob’s Ladder ‘Chit-Card Cards’ on the tables which pose similar questions if you get in the mood to discuss what you think with your table mates. If you don’t want to, use them as beer mats!
There’ll then be some food for the hungry. It’s free, but you can leave a donation for the cooks if you’re so inclined.
Then it’s ‘Metal Mastermind’. This month our competitor will be muso Aaron Gidney whose specialist topic is ‘Iron Maiden If you fancy your chances, you’ll be able to enter your intent on the night for the months to come ahead of the Christmas prize!
A break for a beer while we enjoy the guest playlist, this month chosen by our last moinths quiz winners "Liviticus" who’s picked their top rock tracks. Winners of the next team quiz will get that honour for the next month.
What team quiz? Well, a team quiz of all things metal, rock, prog and angels, led by our own quiz-master Aaron Gidney…so it won’t be easy!
We will end the evening with Controversy Court, led by ‘QC’ Paul Blow asking us together to decide on such big issues as ‘Rush – good but for Geddy’s singing’.
We’ll aim to officially finish around 8.30pm, but will remain open until 9pm for those who just need to hear a further half-hour of angel tunes.
